Premise
From the introduction:
As you left the Main Hall, you felt that strange wrenching in your stomach and it seemed to make your vision go blurry. As soon as your vision clears again you see you have been teleported to the chamber of a mighty warlock!!
The warlock tells you he cast a spell to have the most highly qualified person in the land teleported to his chamber. That must mean you're the one!
He needs some assistance in obtaining an object that has been stolen from him. He claims it is an item of great power and consequence.
It is a magical orb. It was found by his grandfather after being lost for seventy-five thousand centuries (give or take a few days).
The orb must not fall into the wrong hands, or it could mean great disaster. The warlock says he cannot go after the orb himself because mystical defenses of unknown nature have been set up to guard the orb from him. He must thus send some brave adventurer in his stead.
"Find the orb and return it to me, and I will give you the greatest reward you'll ever imagine."
