A pirate is an archetypal villain or adversary common in Eamon adventures.
Appearances
Characters identified as pirates feature in the following adventures:
- The Beginners Cave (1980) by Donald Brown. A pirate waits in a cove wielding the magical Trollsfire sword.
- The Caves of Treasure Island (c. 1981) by Paul Braun and Geoffrey Genz. On the island are Captain Hook, Bluebeard, and various other pirates including One-Eye, Brutus, Gunny, and Cooky.
- House on Eamon Ridge (1984) by Tim Berge. Captain Harold and his crew man a sailing vessel anchored in a coastal cove.
- Hills of History (1985) by David Smith. Blackbeard and several of his crew occupy a pirate ship flying the skull-and-crossbones flag.
- Dungeon of Doom (1986) by Dan Knezek, featuring a stereotypical pirate with an eye patch and peg leg.
- The Valley of Death (1987) by Sam Ruby, with a "tough-looking" pirate who robs travelers.
- Buccaneer! (1987) by Pat Hurst. The adventure begins with the execution in Evenhold's Harbor District of the infamous pirate Henri le Marque, and revolves around the quest to find his purported buried treasure, believed to be located somewhere in the pirate-infested waters of the Malphigian Sea.
- Elemental Apocalypse (1987) by Sam Ruby, with a pair of pirates in a treasure-filled rowboat.
- The Lake (1988) by Nathan Segerlind. The adventurer finds a cache of gold coins that they assume was left by pirates.
- Shippe of Fools (1989) by Robert Parker. The adventurer is shanghaied by the pirate crew of the Darkmist and must escape Captain Jack and his men.
- Enhanced Beginners Cave (1990) by John Nelson.
- Curse of the Hellsblade () by John Nelson. A typically-dressed pirate going by the name "Gorgan Toad" lurks in the caverns.
- The Pirate's Cave (1992) by Margaret Anderson. Prince Charlie has been kidnapped by pirates (led by the infamous Dirty Dick) and the adventurer infiltrates their cavern hide-out to rescue him.
- Bookworm 3-D (1994) by Robert Parker, which features the original Trollsfire-wielding pirate from The Beginners Cave.
- Shipwreck Island (1994) by Ron Ledbetter, which takes place on an island frequented by pirates and on which is hidden the treasure of Long John Silver.
- Realm of Fantasy (2006) by Jared Davis which features the gallant Wesley (aka the "Dread Pirate Roberts") from The Princess Bride.
