A shield is a piece of personal armor either held in the hand or attached to the arm. Adventurers in Eamon may purchase shields, along with other armor and weapons, from Marcos Cavielli in the Main Hall for a base price of 50 gold.
Like other armor, a shield lowers the chance that an enemy's attack will be successful, and reduces by one point the damage that a successful attack will inflict. A shield by itself is the lowest amount of armor protection that a player can carry.
