A rating is an assessment of the quality or difficulty of an adventure, usually represented by a number or a set of stars.
Most reviews published in the EAG's club newsletter rate adventures' quality on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest), often with a separate rating for adventure difficulty. Ratings assigned by multiple reviewers are averaged together, with the number of reviews indicated after the rating. Example: the EAG rates Assault on Dolni Keep as "9.2/6", indicating an average score of 9.2 across a total of six reviews.
The Interactive Fiction Database rates adventures on a 5-point scale represented by whole or fractional stars. Interactive Fiction Reviews uses a 10-star scale.
