Damage is reduction to a target's hit points, which in Eamon is almost always equivalent to hardiness. When an adventurer or monster accumulates damage equivalent to their hardiness, they are dead. The amount of damage a weapon inflicts is normally determined by a die roll that produces a result in a certain range, though things like armor or a shield may reduce or eliminate the damage the target actually receives.
