Malcarcel is one of several continents on the world of Eamon, situated near the Muerte Sea which separates it from the neighboring continents of Grancasa and Republica.
Malcarel is mentioned by name only in the introduction to John MacArthur's 2005 Eamon adventure Journey Across the Muerte Sea. MacArthur writes that in ancient times a battle took place in the sea between four elemental gods which left it nearly impassible and the three continents bordering it isolated from each other.
Several of MacArthur's placenames are based on Spanish words, including mal carcel which means bad prison. The name refers to the continent's use as a prison colony by the Yrma Empire, a nation on the continent of Grancasa.
