The Muerte Islands are three islands in the Muerte Sea, west of the continent of Grancasa and east of Republica. Described in John MacArthur's adventure Journey Across the Muerte Sea, each island has a jar containing one of the three elemental essences of pure fire, pure water, or pure air, left by the gods after their battle in the sea. The adventurer visits the islands on a quest to collect the elements.
The first island is dominated by a castle, within which lives a prince who carries the jar or pure air.
The second island is larger and heavily forested, with the jar of pure water concealed near a tall waterfall.
The third, a small desert island, holds the torch of pure fire, guarded by a dragon in its lair.
