Rigel

Rigel is one of several star systems that the adventurer may visit in The Final Frontier by Bob Slemon, located at coordinates (7,15,13). The system is located in a region of space controlled by the hostile Nebuleans and includes a planet containing mines that produce the rare mineral bariumite.

FutureQuest by Roger Pender begins in orbit around the planet Xylanth in the Rigel star system, with the adventurer making their way down to the surface in an escape pod. During the story the adventurer may find "the famous black diamonds of Rigel VI, coveted throughout the galaxy."

Trivia

• Rigel is also identified as Beta Orionis, one of the major stars in the constellation of Orion.
