The Characters.Ext text file is a version of the standard Characters text file on the Eamon Master designed to accommodate longer records than the original. John Nelson in the August 1985 newsletter explained how a record might overflow the original, 150-bytes-per-record file and gave instructions for how to set up the new 250-bytes-per-record Characters.Ext, as well as a modified version of the Main Hall program (called Village) that could read and write to the file.
