The Software Guild was a California-based software distributor operating in the early 1980s that sold and marketed Donald Brown's commercial adventure series SwordThrust under its subsidiary Softsmith. The company promoted itself as highly focused on the marketing, distribution, and support of its clients' software and had a variety of games and other titles in its catalog.

The Software Guild was founded and led by John Martin-Musumeci and operated at 24213 Clawiter Road, Hayward, California and 2935 Whipple Road, Union City, California. Softsmith operated at 1431 Doolittle Drive, San Leandro, California.
