TSR (originally Tactical Studies Rules) was a Wisconsin-based game publishing company founded in 1973 by Gary Gygax and Don Kaye, best known for its Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game series launched in 1974.
Donald Brown was introduced to the D&D series in the late 1970s by his friend Bill Fesselmeyer and the game influenced his creation of Eamon. Subsequent Eamon contributors introduced numerous references to adventures, monsters, and other elements from D&D, and occasionally from other TSR games such as Gamma World.
TSR became defunct in 1997 and was purchased by Wizards of the Coast, the publishers of the collectible card game Magic: The Gathering.
