Infocom was a software company that produced and published numerous works of interactive fiction, text adventure games, and other video games in the 1980s. Founded 22 June 1979 and based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it was acquired in June 1986 by Activision and closed in May 1989.
Infocom's best known titles include Zork (1980), Deadline (1982), Planetfall (1983), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (1984), and Leather Goddesses of Phobos (1986).
